Mads here! This week on “we don’t gatekeep at Camber,” I thought it’d be fun to share places I believe more people should be talking about. Because these are way too good not to be household names by now:
Zizou, Lincoln Heights 🍛 Stellar Moroccan food, on a stellar patio, what more could you ask for?
Ghisallo, Santa Monica 🍕 Some of the best pizza in LA (yes, I said it), and their outdoor space gives big neighborhood vibes.
Adamson House, Malibu 🏠 The museum and grounds are the perfect place to spend your day (that doesn’t involve the beach!)
Rasarumah, Historic Filipinotown 🍜 If you love Found Oyster (which you should!), the owners' new Malaysian restaurant is a great date spot.
Lady & Larder, Santa Monica 🥪 Go for the sandwiches and pick up a bottle of natural wine and cheese while you're at it.
How’s It Going to End?, Montrose ☕ This aesthetic coffee shop in an old laundromat is a must-visit!
Linden, Hollywood 🍟 Linden looks and feels like a classic Hollywood movie! Don't miss the duck fat fries or the speakeasy next door.
Sunday Gravy, Inglewood 🍝 A classic old-school red sauce Italian joint, but with a modern twist. It's also conveniently located for a pit stop before a show at SoFi or an easy crowd pleaser for a birthday dinner!
Palm Grove Social, Mid-City 🖼️ It's a coffee shop slash art gallery with a great patio for pop-up markets!
Jilli, Koreatown 🍻 This spot has your casual date night plans covered. That rigatoni a la kimchi vodka though…
Bodega Park, Silver Lake 🧋 Their sandwiches exceed the hype, plus the Misugaru Black Sesame is truly next level.
Amiga Amore, Highland Park 🌮 Mexican and Italian fusion is always a good idea.
Anima Mundi, Venice 🌿 Stumbling into this apothecary feels like finding a secret garden.
Real Charmer, Virgil Village 🍹 This bar feels like walking into a scene out of a romance novel, plus you can't miss their caravan karaoke on Tuesdays.
The Bar at Johnny’s Pastrami, West Adams 🍸 Wash down a pastrami sandwich with a martini in their incredible bar space, perfect for big groups and daylong hangs!

Camberries, this one is HUGE!! We're launching the Camberry Spritz with our friends at Pizzana (available from 8/6 - 9/2) and are hosting an Aperitivo Hour at their MDR location to celebrate. Grab your ticket to taste the spritz early, enjoy a slice of ‘za, and get a cute AF commemorative coaster along with other treats!
Wednesday 8/6
Venice 🎧 Take a sonic journey at a listening party of global spiritual jazz (curated by Tana Yonas of In Sheep's Clothing) at music-focused wine bar, Only The Wild Ones.
West Hollywood 🎸 Genghis Cohen is taking over the Kibitz Room every Wednesday and Thursday for Genghis Cohen Live while they operate out of a new temporary space on Fairfax!
West Hollywood 🎞️ Free movie screening on a rooftop? Yes, please! Merois is showing The Parent Trap this week, with signature snacks, craft cocktails, and free popcorn.
Atwater Village ♦️ Uno Social Club's nationwide tour is having its first Game Night stop at Club Teegee — get there early to save your seat!
All over LA 🚙 This is going to be crazy! The truck from the movie The Pickup (releasing on Prime Video on 8/6) is “missing” in LA, and if you manage to find and get within half a mile of it, you could win a cut of the $50,000 reward. You can see the full schedule here!

Venice 🐟 This just in: fish are the it girls of summer. Ride the wave with your own Mediterranean-inspired vessel at Handmade's Fish Plate Ceramics Workshop!
San Fernando Valley 📽️ Calling all nostalgia lovers: Disney+ is teaming up with Swimply for a two-night singalong poolside screening of Camp Rock (on Thursday and Friday). You can watch from a lilypad (!), complete with campfires and crafts.
