This week, we celebrate Juneteenth! What better time to support some incredible Black businesses? Here are my absolute faves in LA, from fine dining to superior coffee:

• Alta, West Adams 🙌 Great patio, even better food. Natural wine, too!

• Fleurs et Sel, West Adams 🙌 My favorite cookies in the city. Ya, I said it…

• Somerville, View Park-Windsor Hills 🙌 People can't stop raving about Issa Rae's elevated supper club for a reason.

• Linden, Hollywood 🙌 Don't skip the duck fat fries or the speakeasy in the back!

• Bridgetown Roti, East Hollywood 🙌 If you haven't tried roti yet, run, don't walk.

• Obet & Del’s, Thai Town 🙌 One of LA's coziest coffee shops!!

• Joyce, DTLA 🙌 Their coastal southern cuisine is to die for.

• Carla’s Fresh Market, Highland Park 🙌 This is the grocery store of my dreams.

Hollywood, Saturday 6/21 🛌

In celebration of the Summer Solstice, we're teaming up with ResortPass to host a morning soundbath at one of their iconic properties - Hollywood Volume, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel (AKA - you've been here. This is Desert 5!) 🤠

We'll start the morning with a soundbath - after, we'll be treated to a light breakfast buffet and goodies to take home from ResortPass (while supplies last) 💛

Tuesday 6/17

• Santa Monica 🌊 Oceans need love, too! Celebrate World Oceans Month at KOOK's night of Art & Action, where there will be surf art installations, free block printing, and plenty of JuneShine. Plus every ticket plants a sea tree!

• Beverly Hills 🍫 Free will means you can start your day with a sweet treat! Zac's Sweet Shop has created the S'mores Latte, available at Leora's, and I need one, like, now.

• West Hollywood 🌴 Reality Bar is giving you a ticket straight to Fiji at their weekly Love Island USA watch parties, which includes happy hour specials and karaoke!

• South LA ♟️ Bring board game night out of your living room with Game Cult's Board Game Social, an interactive hang at Studio Cult!

• Eagle Rock 🕹️ Walt's is throwing its 6th annual pinball tournament. Get your game on and try some special pours by a selection of the best brewers in LA.

• Highland Park 🍻 Get ready for a weekday party at Good Housekeeping hosted by Ilegal Mezcal. The party people at Arroyo are turning the bar out with a Reposado room, tattoos, custom embroidery, and more.

Wednesday 6/18

• Hollywood 🎥 This is the perfect hump-day activity: Not Your Daddy's Films (an iconic collective for women and non-binary filmmakers) is screening Bottoms for Pride Month poolside at The Roosevelt. Grab your tickets before they sell out!

• Koreatown 🐎 Cowboys will be center stage at Eastwood's Open Mic & Cowboy Poetry Night! Come for whiskey, a poetry workshop on vintage typewriters, and performances by some emo cowboys.

• Chinatown 🍚 Taste the fierce flavors of the Philippines and El Salvador at Amanos' Mi Otro Sol dinner hosted by Good Arthur!

• Atwater Village 💎 Create your perfect piece at Okay Gems' Bead-A-Long at Nico's! The handmade jewelry company is Latina-owned, and so incredibly cool.

• Silver Lake 🍝 Get a meal just like your Nonna’s at Silver Lake Pool & Inn's Italian night! Stop by for meal deals, drink specials, and the chance to win a pasta party for two.

• Glendale 🌯 Drop everything and head to Mini Kabob for their menu special: the “Cesar” Wrap! I'm already drooling over the falafel croutons and toum aleppo tossed in their trademark dressing, avail on Wednesdays and Thursdays for a limited time only.

• Santa Monica 🍹 Toast to summer at Spritz Night (featuring Sistine spritzes) thanks to Venice Beach Wine Club!

• West Hollywood 🛍️ Support Black businesses on Juneteenth at Melrose Trading Post's market and celebration!

• Los Feliz 🏃‍➡️ Gorp Girls Run Club is hitting the trails for a night run up to Dante's View Loop (and trust, the view is worth the sweat). All-level runners are welcome to RSVP for free via Usal!

Friday 6/20

• Culver City 📽️ Outdoor movies are back at the Culver Steps, and the lineup is full of nostalgic classics! Catch E.T. this Friday night.

• Culver City 🍩 Umm Challahdad will have Challah donuts at Platform. Omg.

• West Hollywood 🧚 This screams summer!! BSPOKE/LA is creating Midsommar magic at their Summer Solstice event with Swedish candy, homemade jam, Hard Honey seltzers, flower crowns, and photo ops.

• Historic Filipinotown 📚 A Good Used Book's Friday HiFi Market has braised pork bowls, Japanese records, and fine Vietnamese silver jewelry for the Summer Solstice!

• Little Tokyo 🎵 In Sheep’s Clothing is back with another listening party at the JACCC!

• DTLA 🎶 If Lana Del Rey is your national anthem, groove away the summertime sadness (and Lana's birthday) during a Lana-themed dance party going down at Resident.

• Silver Lake 🕺 Party for Pride at Gorgeous, Gorgeous Party: Pride edition, the ultimate pop party for queer and trans hotties!
